Description
PAINTING SWEEPING LANDSCAPES M Green. Tuesday Evening. 7:00 – 9:30PM
Max Class Size: 17 Jan. 7, 14, 21, 28, Feb. 4, 11
Dutch painters in the 16th and 17th centuries created striking and vivid floral paintings that are still marveled at today. These elegant yet dramatic oil paintings are more than just beautifully arranged and executed botanical studies; hidden meanings reside in the details.
In this class, students will create a small still-life oil painting using traditional methods and techniques, including imprematura underpainting, medium preparation, color mixing, brushwork, glazing, and more. This course will focus on learning and developing oil painting as a skill. Students will be able to choose which historical painting to paint from as a master’s study, and we will focus on painting 2-3 blooms as we develop realistic painting techniques.
